Bourbon Orleans – a fantastic hotel in a fantastic location, this is our recommendation for anyone wanting to be in the center of the French Quarter, on Bourbon Street.
Though the main hotel entrance is on Orleans Street, there is access to Bourbon Street via
the hotel’s Bourbon “O” Bar, which is also a great place to start out for cocktails.
The hotel offers clean, comfortable, nicely decorated, spacious, and reasonably priced rooms (in comparison to other hotels of this caliber in the French Quarter.) There are a number of suite options available; some with private balconies and/or views of the courtyard, Orleans Street, or Bourbon Street.
The Bourbon Orleans, which features an opulently decorated main lobby and a saltwater pool in the courtyard, is housed (in part) in the former Orleans Ballroom. Constructed in the early-19th century, this historic building was a venue for the Quadroon Balls of antebellum New Orleans, and was later incorporated into the Convent of the Sisters of the Holy Family.
Today the Orleans Ballroom is used by hotel guests for special events.
The Bourbon Orleans is located at 717 Orleans Street.
