If you’re curious about the big white platform-like cantilevered building hanging out over the water, the one right next to MuCEM and Fort Saint Jean, consider stopping in for a quick walk through.
The Villa Méditerranée, constructed of concrete, glass, and steel, offers great views of the harbor and the Cathedral, and entrance is free.
Opened in 2013, the partially submerged building serves as a venue for summits, seminars, and exhibitions pertaining to the Mediterranean region.
While here, you may want to venture down into the ‘underwater’ level.
You can view a series of video presentations on the history of the city and the region.
And, if it’s accessible at the time of your visit, head upstairs for a walk out into the cantilevered section above the water.
Getting there:
Villa Méditerranée is located at Esplanade du J4.
Ticket Info:
Adult Admission (General Access + Video Presentations) = FREE; Includes audio headsets for the videos
