Seeing Brussels with the ‘Brussels Card’

rating icon 5

If you’re in Brussels and looking to get the most out of your travel budget, consider purchasing the Brussels Card. The card offers free admission to 30 museums and numerous attractions in Brussels.  With most places charging 6.00€ or more for admission, the savings can be considerable, especially if you’ll be in Brussels for at least 48 hours and plan to visit as many sites as you can.

We’ve found that when we pay the full cost for entrance to museums with a steep admission price, we feel the need to spend a huge chunk of time there to get our money’s worth. But, with the Brussels Card, it’s possible to see a number of places, spending as much or as little time as you like in each, and not feel like you’re wasting money. And, an added benefit, not only do cardholders sometimes get to skip the ticket lines, but you can visit the participating museums as often as you like, as long as your card is valid.

To get an idea of the savings you might enjoy, here’s a sample itinerary for up to 2 days in Brussels:

Day 1: Price of Admission (euros)

BELvue = 6.00

Coudenberg – Former Palace of Brussels = 6.00

MIM (Musical Instruments Museum) = 8.00

Choco-Story Brussels (visit includes a sample of chocolate) = 6.00

Old Masters Museum 8.00

Magritte Museum (City Center) 8.00

Total Cost of Admission (Day 1 + Day 2) = 69.00
