Free things to do in Barcelona – See the Magic Fountain
Barcelona’s Magic Fountain (Font Màgica), designed by local architect and engineer Carles Buigas i Sans, was built for the 1929 International Exposition.
This monumental fountain – at the base of Montjuïc Hill – may be just a large water feature by day,
but on certain nights throughout the year, the water is lit by a changing palette of color and synchronized to music, making it one of the main attractions in the neighborhood.
Join the crowds of locals and tourists alike, who flock to the fountain – mobile phones in hand – to take photos and make videos of the dancing water. This is one sight you definitely don’t want to miss if you’re here after sundown.
